This conversion is done in the same manner as Supermarine built the first batch of Spitfire Mk XIV’s. The basis for this conversion is the Eduard Spitfire Mk VIII with the necessary added parts from the Airfix Spitfire FR Mk XIV. At this time, and perhaps for the foreseeable future, I think this combination will yield the best Spitfire Mk XIV. The bulk of the model maintains the superior surface detail and cockpit from the Eduard kit. Because of the limited addition of Airfix parts, it is relatively easy to restore a consistent overall higher level of surface detail over what is found in the current crop of typical Airfix kits.

This video uses the construction of the Airfix Spitfire MK XIV to demonstrate the use of Apoxie Clay in fixing more of the kit issues.
Whether you are doing a Spitfire F Mk XIV conversion or just building the Airfix Spitfire FR Mk XIV straight out of the box, the following video presents some suggestions and fixes that I found important for assembling this kit.
